Course overview

What Is Inclusive Leadership?

Diversity is the full range of perspectives, experiences and identities people bring, including the ways those identities overlap. Inclusion means each of those people is respected, heard and able to be their authentic self at work. The course develops the leadership that achieves it: challenging bias, dismantling barriers, intervening when someone is treated unfairly and embedding inclusion in policy and evaluation.

Immersive workshops, dynamic dialogue and experiential activities let participants test their own assumptions and practise inclusive leadership they can take back to the teams and stakeholders leaders in Costa Rica work with.

The course is for leaders in Costa Rica who want every person in their organisation to feel valued and able to bring their authentic self to work. It covers challenging bias, removing barriers and leading by example, and gives participants practical ways to build belonging, collaboration and fairer practice in the teams and organisations they lead.

  • Fair access to opportunity

Inclusive recruitment and development help talented people from every background advance.

  • Cohesion and unity

Example exercises and tools

Learn by doing.

Exercises, tools and realistic scenarios help participants examine their own assumptions and turn inclusive values into daily action.

Experiential activities give participants situations a leader in Costa Rica might face: a San José team where a colleague witnesses an offensive comment and is unsure whether to step in, a client-facing unit in Heredia that reflects only part of the customer base, or an Alajuela office whose performance reviews never mention how managers treat people. They agree on a fair response, practise it and commit to one change at work.
