Course overview

What Is Leadership Communication?

Leadership communication is everything a leader does to make sure people understand, believe and act on what matters: explaining where the organisation is going, giving clear instructions, listening, offering feedback and building agreement. The course works through the skills behind it, from planning a focused message and judging an audience to careful listening, respectful hard conversations and honest persuasion.

Short inputs are followed by practice: participants run briefings, give presentations and work through difficult conversations in role-plays, then get specific feedback on how they sounded to the kind of audiences leaders in Costa Rica speak to.

Delivered in Costa Rica for executives, managers and team leaders in any sector, the course concentrates on the conversations that decide whether plans succeed: the team briefing, the feedback talk, the difficult discussion and the presentation that asks for a decision.

Why it matters

Why Leadership Communication Matters in Costa Rica

Wherever leaders in Costa Rica work, the results they achieve depend on being understood. Leaders who explain decisions clearly, listen before they respond and handle disagreement calmly keep their teams informed and committed.

  • Direction must be understood

Instructions only turn into results when each person knows what they must do differently.

  • Trust rests on clarity

People believe leaders whose messages stay honest and consistent over time.

  • Problems surface sooner

Teams that feel heard raise problems early, while there is still time to fix them.

  • Many audiences, one message

Leaders in Costa Rica need a different approach for staff, clients and partners.

The Knowles leadership approach

From Insight to Impact

Six steps make up a single cycle, from defining what a message should achieve to finding out whether it worked, and participants apply it to real meetings, conversations and presentations of their own.

Example exercises and tools

Learn by doing.

Practical exercises and tools, built on realistic workplace scenarios, help participants plan what to say, deliver it well and find out whether it was understood.

Participants bring situations from their own work in Costa Rica and use them as material: a briefing they must give next week, a performance conversation they have been postponing, or a proposal that needs a decision from senior colleagues. They rehearse it in pairs and small groups, hear how it came across and rework it until the message is clear.

  • Body Language Check

Ask a partner whether your posture, voice and gestures match your words.
